Woodcote/Stoke Row  Reserves will play neighbours Goring United in a pre season friendly. The match will be played in Goring and is scheduled for Thursday 13th August (7pm kick off)

Latest News - Preseason Commences

Woodcote/Stoke Row FC are back in preseason training this Tuesday 30th, training starts at 7.15pm on Woodcote Recreation Ground and all players old and new are welcome.

Latest News - More Friendlies confirmed

Woodcote/Stoke Row have added two more friendlies to their pre season campaign. On Thursday 23rd July they will take on Hellenic league outfit Thame United at Watlington FC and on 8th August they will travel to Winnersh to take on Reading league division three side Winnersh Rangers.

Latest News - As you were after AGM

Thursday evenings AGM saw all existing club officers re-elected back into their current roles. First team manager Pete MacAllister and Reserve boss Paul Meakin were also re-elected, Meakin will also continue as Youth development Officer, Child welfare officer and under 12's manager. Mark Hogan was elected into the club as under 9's manager.

Latest News - Pre season friendlies announced

Woodcote/Stoke Row FC have announced two pre season friendlies as they prepare for the 2009/10 season. Woodcote will travel to East Park Farm on 1st August to take on Hellenic league new boys Woodley Town before playing SRCC at Cantley Park on Saturday 22nd August. More friendlies will be confirmed shortly.

Latest News - Robbie Lynch wins fantasy league

Reserve captain Robbie Lynch has won the Woodcote/Stoke Row fantasy football league. Lynch's team 'The mighty reds' saw off a late title challenge from Michael Willmore's 'Couldn't give a rats' who finished second and Paul Meakin's 'Rapid Decline' who finished third. Paul Knox's 'PK United' took the fourth champions league spot with Pete MacAllister's Claret and Blue army just missing out.

Woodcote/Stoke Row football club are holding their club AGM at the Black Horse pub at 8pm on Thursday 4th June. All club members and players are welcome to attend.

Latest News - Jim and Benny take players awards at presentation evening

Jim Hancocks first season at Woodcote/Stoke Row ended a high note as he was named Players player of the season at Friday's presentation evening at Goring and Streatley golf club. Long serving defender Benny Clarke took the award for Reserves players player of the season. Steve 'Macca' MacMillan won the first team managers player of the season and Dave Rooke won the award for most improved player. Captain Robbie Lynch won Reserve team managers player of the season whilst Adam Burgess took the most improved reserve player trophy. 

Latest News - Club dinner tonight

The end of season club dinner and presentation evening takes place tonight at Goring and Streatley golf club. Players past and present will be in attendance at the event where the players of the year awards will be presented.

Latest News - Youth team miss final by one goal

Woodcote/Stoke Row Youth failed to qualify for the final of the Oratory tournament by a single goal on Sunday as they were pipped to the post by AFC Henley on goal difference. The Lions looked set for their first final birth but Henley's 3-0 win over Goring Robins saw them make the final. Woodcote finished 3rd in the tournament after beating Rotherfield 2-0 in the play off.

Woodcote/Stoke Row Reserves ended their season with a 3-1 over cup finalists Woodley Town A on Monday night. Woodcote fell behind after ten minutes but hit back with goals from Adie Kearsey and Andy Taylor to lead 2-1 at half time. Woodcote wrapped up the points when Chris Clark headed home Carl Smith's corner.

Latest News - Youth team claim third spot

Woodcote/Stoke Row youth beat Boyne Hill 3-1 at Summerleaze to seal a third place finish in the first division. Brandon Dudley, Matty Wise and Rahul Patel fired Woodcote into a 3-0 lead before Boyne Hill pulled one back to set up a tense finish. But Woodcote hung on to take the points and finish the season in 3rd place.

Latest News - Reserves in 8 goal thriller

Woodcote/Stoke Row Reserves followed their 5-1 win over Hurst with a thrilling 4-4 draw against Sandhurst Devels at the Rec on Saturday. Woodcote came back from 2-0 down with goals from Robbie Lynch, Andy Taylor, Carl Smith and Arron Ploszinski but Sandhurst hit back with 2 late goals to take a share of the points.

Latest News - Five star youth team too hot for Cold Ash

Woodcote/Stoke Row youth hit 5 goals for the third time  this season as they hammered Cold Ash 5-1 at the rec on Sunday. Goals from Aidan Coleman(2), James Back, Rahul Patel and an own goal saw the lions cement a top four league finish in division one. The Lions travel to Boyne Hill next Sunday for the final game of the season knowing a win will see them finish third in the league.

Latest News - Reserves back in trouble

Woodcote/Stoke Row Reserves are back in the relegation dog fight after losing 6-3 at home to Barton. Goals from Andy Taylor, Rob Lynch and Adie Kearsey weren't enough for Woodcote who suffered a further blow with news that Taplow beat Highmoor A 4-0 to boost their hopes of avoiding the drop.

Latest News - Reserves dent Twyford title bid

Woodcote/Stoke Row Reserves took a step closer to safety and put a massive dent in Twyford's title bid as they ran out 2-0 winners on the rec on Wednesday night. A collectors item of a goal from Benny Clarke and a second half strike from Lee Chaffey were enough for Woodcote who face Barton Rovers at home on Saturday.

Latest News - Kearsey double not enough for reserves

Stand in skipper Adie Kearsey scored twice to fire his side into a 3-1 half time lead at Mortimer Reserves on Saturday but then saw his side get blown away by a second half Mortimer revival which saw them come back to win 5-3. Mortimer took the lead after just two minutes before Kearsey and Will Macdonald fired the visitors into a healthy half time lead. The game changed with the introduction of three mortimer substitutes ten minutes into the second half.

Latest News - Sonning 2 Reserves 1

Woodcote/Stoke Row Reserves produced a much improved performance but were unable to halt Sonning's promotion push as they went down 2-1 at Pound Lane. The game was marred by a horrible incident involving a Sonning player who after being sent off refused to leave the playing area, delaying the restart of the game by 15 minutes. Woodcote went ahead in the 35th minute through an own goal from a Lewis Miles corner. Ten man Sonning came back strongly in the second half and took the points with 2 goals in two minutes.

Woodcote/Stoke Row Youth went down 5-3 at near neighbours Whitchurch Hill on Thursday night. Two screamers from Aidan Coleman and a further strike from James Back were not enough for the Lions who stay 4th in division 1 with two league games remaining.

Woodcote/Stoke Row youth and Whitchurch Hill go head to head on Thursday night as the battle for the first division runners up spot hots up. A win for Hill will almost certainly see them claim second place whilst a win for the visitors will give them renewed hope of finishing runners up to champions Eldon Celtic.

Woodcote/Stoke Row youth returned to winning ways with a 3-1 friendly win over Purley Jubilee. James Back scored twice for the hosts to give woodcote a 2-1 half time lead and Sam Rowlands added a third in the second half to seal victory.

Woodcote/Stoke Row Reserves were beaten 4-1 at Taplow on Saturday. Robbie Lynch put Woodcote ahead after 5 minutes only for Taplow to equalise ten minutes later. Three further second half goals saw the hosts run out comfortable 4-1 winners

Latest News - Godfrey breaks ankle in Reserves win

Alex Godfrey was taken to hospital after breaking his ankle six minutes into Woodcote/Stoke Row Reserves 3-0 win over Radstock. The central midfielder making only his third start since breaking his arm earlier in the season landed awkwardly after being tackled on the edge of the Radstock penalty area.

Latest News - First Team lose to a late goal

Woodcote/Stoke Row 1st Team where beaten by a 93rd minute goal against in form Highmoor / Ibis on Saturday which turned what was looking like a great point into a narrow defeat. Marc Edward-Smith had opened the scoring in the first half but Highmoor fought back to level on 50 mniutes and it was Ian Griffin's late strike which earned them the points. Latest News - Mistakes 3 Reserves 1

Another defeat for the Reserves as Sonning made the most of three defensive errors to run out 3-1 winners at the Rec. Over the course of 90 minutes Woodcote can claim to have matched their promotion chasing opponents but that will come as little consolation for the home side who desperately need to start winning games to avoid the drop. Johnny Clark scored Woodcote's goal after great work down the left from Andy Taylor.

Woodcote/Stoke Row youth again fell at the semi final hurdle as they were thrashed 9-1 at Eldon Celtic. Eldon who are unbeaten in league and cup all year will now face Thatcham Town in the final after they beat Whitchurch Hill 3-2 at Henwick Worthy. Matty Wise scored the youth teams consolation
